When I was there the guy running the place was playing acoustic guitar. Was amazing. A real vibe. Very cool store besides that. Not so much for best sellers. More curated collection. Very reasonable prices. Definitely recommend.

Sellers & Newel is a Toronto gem in its own right. Bookstore by day, venue for performances at night. Charming, warm, and cosy, with a great selection of books hard to find elsewhere. Love this place.

An old school second-hand bookstore where you can find everything from Chomsky's greatest hits to Carlos Castaneda's ruminations on LSD - and a whole lot in between - Sellers & Newel also doubles as a tiny and unlikely, but also uber-hip nightclub featuring a rotating cast of local musicians/songwriters. A throw back to the coffee house days of the 60s, this place is an experience! Save yourself the cost of a trip to Greenwich Village and soak up the folksy sounds right in our own backyard.

Great store, great thinking books. Nice owner Peter Sellers. Went for a concert for Joey O'Neil and not only was it a great concert but the acoustics were excellent.

If you love visiting old libraries or books stores, this is the place to go. Books from floor to ceiling in lots of topics. Well priced as well. Nice owner who is interested in what types of books I liked. Really nice employee as well. I fully recommend this store.

2nd hand bookstore in heart of little Italy. New be surprised what you can find there. Some hidden treasures. The people that work the bookstore are really nice

Whenever we're in Toronto we stop at a used book store. Today we stopped at Sellers & Newel. As soon as we walked in the door the smell of old books hit me and I was sold. The store was small but had a good selection of varying titles. My favourite thing was the coffin shaped book shelf with the horror selections. Got a first edition of Dan Simmon's Hyperion Cantos. My girlfriend got a first edition Eye of the Dragon from Stephen King. The guy working there was helpful and engaging. Great store!

Thanks a lot for the great review, Anthony. So glad you liked the place. We have a lot of talented musicians on staff and often have guitars, banjos, and our piano being played in the shop. Cheers.
