Went in to get a nose pass replaced. Walked out with both replaced and free of charge! Location was easy to find, speedy service, and very friendly staff!!! I'll be back that's for sure

Paula is amazing! So kind and reassuring. A contact tore in my eye and she gently removed the fragment. Thank you also to the front desk for picking up the phone and accommodating me on a busy Saturday. I hadn’t been to the clinic in over a decade yet they still offered top notch service. A rarity these day. Many many thanks.

Was passing through and wanted to do a quick browse the other week. I politely asked one of the employees if they carried Celine (I am looking for a specific pair). She looked at me, along with her colleague as If I had a cabbage for a hat on and answered "no-we don't carry "Si-LEEN". I thought their attitude was a bit crusty. Listen, if you are judging me because you don't think I can afford glasses at your medicore eyeglasses shop but cannot even pronounce the designer properly and even corrected me on how I pronounced it-you probably need a low review. Enjoy!

I had a wonderful experience with Catherine (owner/manager). She's patient and very helpful. I don't know why there are bad reviews. I spend 4 hrs to pick glasses and she was really patient with me

I've been dealing with Toronto Eye Care for many years as I followed my primary optometrist from practice to practice. I've found their staff and care to be outstanding. I suffer from a range of eye conditions and have found them to be extremely proficient in dealing with all of them. My most recent interaction was for help in locating and removing a wandering contact lens. I was in and out of their office in under 20 minutes with the ability to see again.

UPDATE TO MY REVIEW - October 2025: I normally don't come back to leave an additional review, but my recent circumstances compel me to do so. I recently experienced one of the most intense and painful eye infections I have ever had in my life, and Dr. Kawale and Toronto Eye Care helped me so much. As soon as I arrived for my emergency appointment, Dr. Kawale examined my eyes and started me on a course of treatment that immediately eased the symptoms and relieved the pain and discomfort. He asked me to come back in a week to see if the medication and drops had made a difference. When I came back for the follow-up appointment, he was pleased with the progress, but wanted me to continue with additional drops to clear up the infection altogether. He didn’t hesitate to treat my case with the seriousness, care, consideration, and time that it required. As someone who has experienced profound vision loss throughout my life, undergone a series of eye surgeries, and continues to navigate a world that is deeply inaccessible, I am always very nervous about my eye appointments. That fear and nervousness has dissipated over the past several years since being a patient of Dr. Kawale. He instantly makes me feel at ease, answering my questions and making sure I know that I am not alone. He makes sure that I am included, valued and heard during my appointments and the entire team at Toronto Eye Care provides such inclusive, patient-centred services. Thank you Dr. Kawale for helping me. I wish I could leave 100 Google reviews urging people to come to Toronto Eye Care. You have made such a meaningful, profound difference in my life and I am forever grateful. ---------- REVIEW: Toronto Eye Care is simply the best. I am blind with a long history of eye-related issues including a previous retinal detachment. Dr. Upen Kawale has been my optometrist since 2016 and his kindness, expertise and knowledge have been a game changer for me. He has found contact lenses that allow more oxygen to my eyes, found glasses that work with my extremely high prescription and found an option for additional glasses over my contacts to help with migraines. His compassion and genuine concern for his patients is unparalleled. He listens and he works tirelessly with his team to find solutions. He never gives up. The exciting thing is that this commitment to patient care permeates the entire office. The team at reception are courteous, warm and supportive and follow up with regular updates around appointments, prescriptions and orders. The technicians help me navigate the complex pre-appointment tests with such ease and care. And the opticians help me to find the ideal glasses and contact lenses. In my case, glasses needed to be specially ordered from Europe for my prescription and they made sure that we found the best option for my needs. Dr. Kawale and his team at Toronto Eye Care have made sure that I have the optimal experience throughout every step of the process and this speaks to not only their exceptional customer service but to their deep and abiding commitment to making a difference in the lives of others. I cannot recommend Toronto Eye Care highly enough. Thank you so much.

Called for an appointment. First question “do you wear contacts?” No, I don’t.. Standard Eye exam was $200... This clinic will also reply to my review with a defamatory response to discredit my review, so call around and check for yourselves. Don’t take my word for it. P.s. most of the 5 star reviews seem to be by users who only have 1 or 2 reviews. Seems odd, doesn’t it...

Unfortunately this review is misleading and not completely accurate. Our clinic provides comprehensive ocular assessments with highly reputable doctors, state of the art diagnostic equipment in a modern, professional downtown facility. Our fee structure reflects the comprehensive nature of the medical testing and the quality services that are provided.
