Top-quality framing with meticulous attention to detail. For example, notice how the matte doesn’t cover the artist’s signature, even though there was only a very narrow margin to work with—while still keeping the print perfectly flat. I also love their shadowboxes with colored interiors; they give the print a great pop. I’ll be bringing all my future prints here. Thank you for the excellent work!

I have worked for years with Kelly and Sonja, framing art for our home, Always creative, highest quality, and the warmth of the staff make it a pleasure to walk through the doors with another new piece!

Akasha used to be on Church Street, on the second floor above a hardware store. Even that space was charming, professional and bright, but their new location with frontage at 204 Carlton is light years better still. Owned and managed by Sonja and Kelly, Akasha has long been known as one of the top framers in the city. That's a big deal, because experts can spot a badly-framed piece at fifty paces. I'm an artist and I can attest to the superb quality and worksmanship of their framing - it is impeccable. They have a vast selection of frames, glass and matting available to suit your budget, but please realize: Akasha's prices compare favorably with other top framers in the city, but when all is said and done, good framing requires expertise, and you get what you pay for. Framing your precious art is an investment, because framing done well will enhance your artwork but badly done will lower its value. Expect to pay anywhere from a minimum of about $300 - $400 and up depending on the size of the artwork and your choice of materials. You needn't worry about quality - this is a small company run by two very dedicated professionals who simply don't allow anything below their high standard to leave the shop. And I've never known them to miss a deadline. I believe they now offer professional art printing as well, and of course Akasha is well known as one of the few gallery spaces devoted to photography and photo-related art in the city. Now that they have a street presence, their gallery space invites you in, and there is always an interesting exhibit on. It's a great place to pick up beautiful and unique art by emerging and established artists, sometimes at remarkable prices. Can't recommend them enough.

It is this simple: Kelly and Sonja saved me from making terrible mistakes. My deadline was close. I’d already decided on a way to frame. I would buy everything for that the next day. That night, Kelly and Sonja presented to our group about the importance of proper framing. A couple of minutes into Kelly's presentation I was sweating. I was about to make many of the mistakes Kelly spoke so passionately about to avoid. I listened to her every word, approached her afterwards and went to see her at Akasha the next morning. She came up with a plan, worked with my budget and just before I left she assured me my 10 pictures would be all ready before my deadline. Akasha took over. I stopped sweating. And I was excited to hang my work at CONTACT on time. Their ideas, workmanship and turn-around were flawless. Thank you Kelly, Sonja and your team! Thanks you for being there!

I've had nothing but success here at Akasha. The workmanship is always impeccable. I see no reason to go anywhere else. They have extremely competitive prices for the value of custom framed product they provide.

They did a great job framing a large image I brought them. Their prices seemed average, but the selection and quality was very good. I would come back.
