Graham, the shop owner, was incredibly generous with his time in helping me order and ship an acrylic blowup of a photograph that I gifted to my friend for her recent birthday. She loved it! And I couldn't be more pleased. I was placing the order from Los Angeles, and Graham reviewed multiple images for me, recommending the best size for the quality of the image I emailed him. He helped me finalize the cropping as well. He also printed on canvas another photo for me- all within 24 hours - which I was able to pick up in-person at the store when I arrived in town...so I had an extra present in-hand when I showed up at my friend's home. Definitely recommend this shop and their personal service.
I had a horrible experience with the shop keeper! He was initially accommodating when we were trying to look for an image to print. When we couldn’t find it I started to look through ready-to-buy plak-it prints, and even chose one that I liked. After looking through sunglasses, we approached to purchase the print. I asked very politely, “Could we get a discount by any chance?” To which the shop owner responded, rudely and curtly, “Absolutely not! I’ll be increasing the pricing tomorrow and I will increase it right now if you ask me again!” He went on, without us having said a word, with a raised finger pointed at us. “Don’t ask for discount at a small retail shop!” My husband said, “You know what, I don’t like this attitude,” and we walked out. The shopkeeper could have just simply and kindly said no, instead of delivering a rude tirade. It’s not an appropriate way to treat anyone. In this case, being congenial would’ve gained him a customer who would have come back for a custom print job.
Graham was an absolute pleasure to work with. He was so patient with me and all my requests and we are thrilled with the end result. Talk about personalized service--Graham even dropped our piece off on our doorstep! We will 100% be back for our next framing job or artwork addition!
They did an amazing job framing a concert poster - going above and beyond to create a special piece of art that was thoughtfully personalized to capture our specific night at the concert. Will definitely use again!
I should have trusted the one-star reviews and left the store the moment the guy opened his lips. Is there a way I can put a half star review? because be my guest if you wish to conduct business with this nasty individual and his attitude. Hopefully that rent money will pay off.
Graham has been great at recommending framing options & his store is full of cool stuff. He will gladly use any file you bring yourself to be printed/framed too. I often use their Plakit (mounting) as it's reasonable, looks good & can be done quickly. I appreciate the service but as a minor warning, when he's not there, the support staff can be hit or miss. Thanks Graham & I'll be back.
Highly recommend Alernative Arts. I had an image of a painting that I had seen in a museum and got a canvas print of it. Graham noticed from the image that the sides were a little blurry and advised that he could shave off a quarter of an inch which I was very grateful for. Additionally he was able to get it ready within a day which was awesome!
