**Added some images! - Updated my original review below with some photos I've taken of the most recent item these lovely people have framed for me! I have brought them other things to frame between my original review this big painting, all 5-star visits, but this one deserves pictures :) It's always a delight to bring in my rare posters to Lucy every time I find a new one, she's super friendly and it's real nice to work out all of the frame/matting options with her during the week. On that note, the range of frame styles they offer is impressively broad, from classy and conservative to pretty wild and zany! I've noticed that their matting is super rich in texture and colour (if getting colour - it's great, try it!) and all of the finishing is perfect, it seems like all of the seams, backing, glass, hanging fixtures etc are finished to a very high standard of quality compared to frames I've had done at other places in town (their wood frames seem denser and more solidly finished for example). I've been to see them very recently and I'll be bringing them another item to frame when I pick that one up! :D EDIT CONTINUED: ... So this is the first painting that I've had to bring to the Frame Maker, it's all been photos/posters/prints up to now! It's on a piece of board that was a fair bit warped, it had been leaning against a wall as is for years and years. I kind of saw it as traditionally unframeable and was playing with the idea of putting some bolts straight through and hanging a chain directly on the back as some sort of weird compromise, but I'm very very glad I brought it to Lucy and Chiaki! You guys, it's so beautiful, I cannot emphasize enough how stunning the frame job makes the painting itself look - "elevates" is totally appropriate. As opposed to when I bring posters in, I didn't have the first clue as to what I wanted or what my options were. Lucy suggested the absolute perfect materials/process you see here and I was instantly sold/confident that it would look great - I really, really does and since then I've made myself a note saying I needed to update my review with some photos of it! Oh, all of the posters you see framed around the painting were also done by them of course :)

I went in to get an estimate for 2 frames today. There was no one else in the store. The person i dealt with was sullen, disinterested and given that she had no other business to handle, very uninviting. The estimates were not low and there seemed to be very little interest in trying to get my business The store is always empty of customers when i walk by. Wonder how they stay open

Have usually had great experiences with this place in the past, which is why I drove 40 minutes to ask for their opinion on whether a framing job was possible. I needed a couple of paintings framed with week to spare. Upon entering before saying anything, the person at the front desk told me that their current job would take a while. Upon asking whether I can get an estimate, I was told atleast an hour. I asked her if I could wait inside or if I should come back and was told in a codescending tone that the shop closes at 5, and it was up to me (this is at 3 pm btw). I then asked her if she could just give me an opinion on whether the job was possible, not even having given the chance to say anything so far about it. And the person angrily and condescendingly told me "I am working on something right now, you can see right?". Something has definitely gone wrong with recent personnel, never had this issue in the past even in the busiest of times. Not like I wanted her to drop everything and frame my stuff anyway, if I had been told the framing job was possible in a week, I'd definitely come back later. No chance of that happening ever now.

Our go-to spot for all our framing needs. Have used this location multiple times for various projects: maps, art, prints, animation cels and more. Always reasonably priced, and consistently done earlier than anticipated. Friendly and knowledgeable staff, never pushy but happy to offer suggestions! 5⭐️

The Framenaker does wonderful work. Very professional, great prices, excellent work and caring and friendly staff. Shout out to Jackie who really know her job and almost reads my mind when I'm deciding what frame to use. Small but mighty.
