New to the neighbourhood, and walked past this place and I just KNEW it was going to be delicious. I opted for their signature Bahn Cuon Dac Biet and was blown away. The texture of the rice crepes was peerrrrrfect. The delicious fish-sauce-based dip made everything even better, and I loved all the accoutrements (even the fermented meat, and I was hesitant at first!) Great cozy vibes, lovely staff and good service. Bonus points to the hot tea served as soon as we sat down!
Went for the banh cuon and we weren’t let down. Freshly made, and tasty. The accoutrements, especially for the signature dish (banh cuon dac biet) were varied and complimented the banh cuon really well. The pepper sauce had a great kick. A little pricier but honestly worth it.
Probably one of the best places in Toronto to have Vietnamese rice rolls (Bánh cuốn/ướt) freshly made of the day. Staff are friendly and polite. Price is affordable. Takeouts for party size is available. Sugarcane juice is also a must-try. Highly recommend!
I came here because pho xua which is next door was closed. How did this place get 4.5 rating is a mystery. Pho was flavourless, beef was tough, how is beef tough in pho when it’s sliced so thin? It also tasted incredibly weird. Ordered an appetizer and it came after the main dish. Not even water was offered, service was not existent. They also charge you 5% extra fee if you pay with credit or debit. The only ones having a feast were the dozens of flies around the place. Disgusting experience
Local owned family business in Stockyards! Their banh cuon is delicious and I also love their cha lua. Super authentic and would highly recommend to anyone in the area.
I really wanted to like this place after the new ownership, but my favourite dish (duck bamboo noodle soup) fell rather flat. The duck was a bit tough, but the noodles were unacceptable. One order had really undercooked noodles and another had overcooked mushy noodles. The broth itself is still pretty good. Edit: I wasn't going to update to address their lies, but this popped up again from Google and I noticed that the owner thinks they're so clever by clapping back at negative reviews. It comes off as extremely petty and childish. They need to learn how proper businesses deal with negative reviews. As for my experience, we definitely did NOT eat everything, not even close. We ordered more than we could eat in order to try different things. Are you going to "check your CCTV" and double down on your lie? I have hundreds of reviews, with the vast majority being positive and gain nothing from lying.
Nothing really "wrong" with the pho I had. But the taste of the pho stock just wasn't what I prefer. Prices are also (relatively) more expensive than other pho places. Your mileage may vary though depending on what you're used to!
