I had the bahn mi years ago when they first opened, was amazing. Tried again yesterday was 10/10, the Pho ga is healing for sickness and absolutely delicious. Taro smoothie only 6$ is huge and delicious too, great prices and portions.
30 minute wait for spring rolls is crazy, especially since they were ready in 10 but for some reason needed 20 minutes to sit on the counter and finally be put in a bag
really delicious vietnamese coffee here!!! the space itself is pretty small, not a lot of room to sit down and eat but a couple of small tables available. the boy behind the counter is always very friendly and helpful. the student discount (being minutes away from TMU) is a plus.
I came into Beyond Fusion on a holiday Monday looking for food to feed myself and my grumpy 5-year-old. The staff were incredibly charming and friendly and soon my child was looking forward to her preferred meal of plain noodles in broth. She slurped them up happily. For myself I enjoyed a classic banh mi sandwich and tried for the very first time, Bun Cha Ha Noi. It was recommended to me and it involves wrapping grilled meat, noodles and veggies in a large leaf of lettuce and dipping it into sauce. It was SO good! So flavourful and refreshing--perfect for a hot summer day. I'm already drooling and craving it again as I write this. I live in Quebec, but I know I'll have to stop by Beyond Fusion again when I visit Toronto again in the future. I love Vietnamese food and this cozy place hits the spot! My only regret - forgetting to use my student card for the 10% discount.
Ordered ahead on ritual. They were quick making the order. I had arrived early and it was ready early. Ordered the taro foam coffee, and it was great. You could taste the taro, and the Vietnamese coffee base was still evident.
Where do I even start… the family that runs Beyond Fusion+ were the first, best, warmest, and most welcoming people that my partner and I met when we moved to Toronto at the start of winter. From their hospitality to their food, Beyond Fusion on Church St is by far the best Vietnamese place I’ve visited in Toronto. You cannot go wrong with any food or drink combination, from their Cloudy Taro and Matcha Foam Lattes to their Bahn Mi and Bun Bo Hue (my personal favorite—got me through winter), their is nothing I have tried and not loved. Somehow, being a banh mi and pho takeaway place, they make fire bun bo and pork rice?. If you can get it, get it. They recently updated their wonton soup recipe too it is beautiful now. (Old comment: Their Pho is just alright, not stellar, with a bit too much noodles. The service time is blazing fast though. This is where you grab your food and go, it may not be restaurant-grade, but made fresh every time.)
