This is one of my favourite banh mi places downtown. It's off to the side and run by the sweetest lady that truly deserves the best. A very authentic lunch with your Vietnamese auntie experience. The banh mi can be light on fillings and may leave some wanting for more. It is delicious nonetheless, and for a better price and value than other nearby banh mi shops. The bread is quite a bit better than that of other banh mi stores. There is an offering of other Vietnamese staples such as bun bo hue, bun rieu, and the ever-present pho. The banh cuon is a standout - really good, and a great value.
I was excited to try sandwiches from this store for the first time, but was really disappointed. When I got home and opened my $6.00 sandwich, I found a fly inside. The bread tasted stale, and the sandwich was very dry with not much meat. I asked for extra spicy, but there were barely any hot peppers—I couldn’t even taste them. This was not the quality I expected. I hope the store will improve its food freshness and attention to orders
I really wanted to support small viet businesses but this place’s hygiene needs improvement. There was a bug in my noodle and a mouse running around the restaurant. The staff was really lovely ladies though, it’s a good option for affordable takeaways!
This place is a run down little family restaurant, and needs some maintenance. It has been empty during our lunch, except for 1 or 2 Banh mi take outs. Food is okay, we tried the noodle, Banh mi and ice coffee. The filling in the Banh mi is lacking. Noodle needs more flavor. Majority of the price goes to downtown rent.
extremely DIRTY! environment. Public Health inspector must go investigate this food place! corners and stair and washroom has spider webs?. owner charged $15 for crab soup not sure how came up with total. chef look like a homeless man with long beard not hygiene! tables are sticky and never sanitized at all. veggies are stalled and dark still gave customers to eat.
Shrinkflation! So sad! What has become of the cold cut bahn mi at this joint? All bread, barely any meat or toppings. Still super friendly service as always. Don't get me wrong, the bread is really great but I am still hungry.
The best Vietnamese bánh mì in town!!! I was first super surprised then felt so lucky and satisfied for having the bánh mì that tasted exactly like the bánh mì I had in Vietnam. Thanks to the sweet mom-like ladies who work hard to deliver such authentic flavour. 45minutes sitting in the place felt quite like home, surrounded by all the little humble yet delicious Vietnamese snack that I could barely find them anywhere else in the city. Now I’m thinking of moving to Toronto just so I can have bánh mì and talk to the ladies everyday!
