This place is pretty good! In my late 30s, the portions were perfect but if I was a hungry 20 year old, I can see how you’d want bigger portions. There’s only one size for pho so just a heads up! Everything else about the place was lovely.

Hem Social is a gem of a spot. Today was my first visit and it will not be my last. I stopped on a whim as I walked by, on my way to a meeting. I needed a fast lunch, but what I was met with was such warmth and hospitality. Even though I was getting take out, they welcomed me in, offered me water and my meal was ready in record time. I got to my destination and took a single bite and was hit by the gorgeous bouquet of flavour and aroma. It is the best bahn mi I've ever had. Everything about it was perfect. Thank you, Hem Social! See you soon.

Food’s not bad, especially non-typical ones nor found on usual pho places. But for pho, portion is small and flavour bland. Cozy atmosphere and friendly staff.

I love coming here for the lemongrass bbq chicken vermicelli bowl. All the dishes here taste so fresh and balanced. Their appetizers and pho are also great options. The service is very quick and considerate, a great spot to bring a friend to.

I've eaten a lot of vietnamese food, right by College & Sheridan, there are two restaurants Pho Linh and Pheonix that have been staples in the community for decades. I was sincerely excited to try this place. I had the wontons and sauté beef vermicelli. The steamed wontons were about 9 dollars, they were okay. It's quite a small portion for the price but it was fresh and nice to try. The sauté beef vermicelli was delicious. It costs $18 excl. tax. It's a very decent price and the food, was fresh and well portioned. This is definitely a viet place to try the sauté beef vermicelli. I would have given a slightly higher review and taken pictures, however, it was a bit uncomfortable for me. As the place was busy and they only had available seating at the bar, I sat at the bar. I would not eat here again at the bar or recommend anyone for that matter. The seats are very low at the bar. The bar was sitting almost at collarbone level for me eating. I struggled to eat, even spilled some food for the first time at a restaurant on myself when the dishes are not very messy. They did explain to me after I was eating already, this was because they inherited the bar from the previous owner but, they could have either A told me that before I sat down for a meal or B, offered alternative seating when the tables opened up. Ultimately, vermicelli was great, but I also felt sort of rushed to pay at the end. So it was not the most relaxing environment to have a meal. I will definitely be back to try the chicken vermicelli and this time, sit at table, and hopefully be able to provide some photos. Ultimately has great sauté beef vermicelli, decently priced, but would not recommend sitting at the bar for a drink and a meal, as you will be uncomfortable eating.

We had a wonderful experience here! The staff were very friendly, and the food was absolutely delicious. We tried the weekend special coconut curry — it was incredibly rich and flavorful, and the vegetables were especially fragrant. The overall atmosphere felt warm and cozy, making it a great place to enjoy a meal with friends. Highly recommended!

Food was very good. I had tofu and mushroom vermicelli. Veggies were fresh and chopped nicely. Service was great and place was lovely. Mushrooms were very good. Tofu was kind of meh, would have better as soft. Noodles were not ample, and they were kind of not quite the best consistency. Overall nice, but not filling enough.
