More of a large curiosity shop than a thrift store. Pleasant staff, well-curated merchandise, impeccably clean, including the basement - in east-end Toronto, a basement that old and that clean takes a lot of work and love. The store goes on and on; it seems like Dr Who's Tardis, that's bigger on the inside than the outside. You go downstairs, you turn the corner and there's another room. And it's clean and tidy! And it's well-organized. And it's full of oddball treasures (need any antique drawer knobs?). And hey, there's another room beyond that room. And it goes on... A joy to shop here, there are bargains to be found. Highly recommended.
Awesome place, really well organized, so much to see, lots of great bargains from old LP to vintage stereo systems some 1: 64 cars nice vintage cameras payphone, posters and that's on the main floor, has a big basement full of different things definitely worth a look, the owners are very nice and we take the time to show you around recommended .
The biggest selling point of this store was its sheer scale and variety. There's two full floors, multiple rooms each full of things with moderate to low price points. The first floor is full of unique trinkets and toys. However, past the first floor, much of the things are deteriorating to an unreasonable degree. Some of the books are worn down to the point the covers are flayed, the spines are broken down and it would be risky to take one out to even purchase. Almost all the old tools and metalwork available for sale, while cheap, are rusted and damaged to the point the cost of repairing them for even just display would outweigh the cost of buying them several times over. It is understandable that the cost of repairing them would no longer allow for these items to be sold as cheaply, but this level of damage would make them difficult to have as a product at all. The bare minimum repairs could at least prevent them from further deterioration, especially in the case of rust. It's a shame, as quite a few of the items are actually novelties that the sort looking for them would be willing to pay a higher price if they were cared for. While this is subjective, The atmosphere in the store was also overall a little strange to me. The store clerk had personally greeted most of the visibly white customers who had passed by but had simply stared at the only visibly non-white customer on the floor. I don't know what to do with that observation, so do with it what you will. Overall, a very visually endearing shop but not what it was advertised to me as.
In my humble opinion this is one of best shops on the far East part of the Danforth. I like to pop in after brunch. I have found a bevy of beautiful gifts here - there is a lot of vintage but there is also great handmade goods and items from small businesses. The staff are the gem of this shop. So helpful and just so social. It’s always nice coming here and as fans of vintage it’s nice to se thoughtfully curated goods. Not the Y2K type but everything from mid century to the turn of the century. Great space and truly one of a kind.
So much to see - akin to visiting a museum !! and the items are beautifully arranged and displayed. Not to mention the music added to the incredible ambience. Thanks to Maggie we got exactly what we had been searching for. We truly look forward to visiting again!
The best vintage store in Toronto hands down. You will find the coolest stuff here. Everything is so well and thoughtfully curated. Management takes great pride in what they do. There is always a story to hear heard with many unique pieces.
A hidden gem in east Toronto! Super cozy stores with lots to look at and things are reasonably priced. The staff are super nice and helpful. Highly recommend checking out if you’re in the area!
