Wouldn’t recommend the taro milk tea at this specific location. They make it differently from other locations (I get it every time). It tasted heavily of artificial powder that was very watered down. The menu is also much smaller than other locations. Wouldn’t give this place a 1 star though because the other drink we got tasted fine.
Gongcha used to be one of my favorite spots to get bubble tea, but unfortunately, this visit left me disappointed. Since I really enjoy trying the Daily Special drinks, that’s what I ordered here. What immediately stood out was the complete difference compared to what they advertise on their official website and what’s served at their other locations. The only positive was that the staff politely warned me about the difference in advance. I visited on a Wednesday, and while other locations were serving Winter Melon as the special, here it was just regular black milk tea. Honestly, it felt like a way to cut costs – and that definitely left a bad impression. Will I return? Probably not – I’d rather go to Kung Fu next door. Pros: polite staff who explained the difference in drinks Cons: feels like they’re cutting corners on ingredients
Do NOT order the grass jelly with fresh milk here. It was mostly milk and 1/4 or less the appropriate portion of grass jelly. It looks nothing like the advertised picture. If I knew, I wouldn't have ordered it. If there wasn't enough grass jelly, it would have been best if they were honest about it. So not worth it.
Wanted to treat myself to strawberry matcha with strawberry jelly. Was about to drink it once I got home which was a short walk and the container split in two and my entire drink was on the floor. Please invest in better quality cups. And also would be nice if management didn’t understaff this store.
This place is more than just a bubble tea store. This place has changed how I think about life. The workers have perfected their art, and created something so great it will be talked of in legends. I have spent over 4 hours in this store in one day. It doesn’t just provide me with good drinks and tasty treats. But a place of beauty, a place to gather oneself and become a better person. No amount of praise can explain the experience of being in this Gong Cha. So please everyone reading this, visit this place at least once. It might just change your life :)
So happy to see and try another bubble tea shop on Danforth! Perfectly blended Taro Milk Tea with Tapioca, 30% sugar is sweet enough to make your taste buds happy and feeling less guilty of consuming sugar. The service was great, and the person at the counter was very welcoming. Nice, clean, little space!
It was an absolutely amazing experience. The workers are extremely nice especially the one who served me named Alina. The manager and workers all communicate really well to make the business run smoothly and get orders out quickly. I really enjoyed the matcha bubble waffle and would most definitely get it again. Overall I had a wonderful experience and would definitely recommend going there!
