Melo Automotive is simply the best! Rob is attentive, informative and kind—he helps non-car people understand (and want to understand) what’s going on with their car. The whole team is efficient, and polite. I always know my car will be taken care of, that anything wrong will be detected and fixed. The Melo standard is high. Once you find their shop, you never look back!
If you want an auto shop that puts your needs ahead of their own desire to just make money, then Melo is the one for you. I was having an issue with the brakes on my two-year-old SUV, so I took it to the dealership, who told me that brakes aren't covered under warranty as they're subject to wear and tear. Then I took it to Canadian Tire, who told me it would cost more than $800 to fix. Then I took it to Rob at Melo, who made a phone call and found out that there'd been a bulletin issued for the brakes on that model and that the warranty had been extended. So I took it back to the dealership armed with that information and got new brake pads and rotors free of charge, all covered under warranty. Rob and the team at Melo are exactly the kind of mechanics that you want -- honest brokers who are there to help you, not themselves.
It's tire changing season, but despite that Rob fit me in for a next-business-day emergency diagnostic because my nighttime running lights were not working on the left side of my car. He was fully booked but had pity on my situation and I greatly, greatly appreciate it. I came because of the 149 4.9 star review and I must say, it was like everyone here has reported. Rob was cautious not to overpromise, since the issue could be anything in the electrical system. Once they got under the hood, they found a bad fuse and got things squared away in 30 minutes. Charged me 50 bucks for labor and 2 for the fuse. I'm very happy with them fitting me in and what seems like very fair pricing to me. Will definitely use them again and grateful for their responsiveness. Thank you Rob and team!!
Been coming here since it opened and you'll never find a more trust worthy private shop. You get what you pay for and won't find any surprises on your bill.
Being a professional mechanical engineer and car enthusiast I tend to do most of basic car maintenance myself (oil &oil filter changes, air filter, cabin filters, tire rotation and winter/changeover, spark plugs & coils, etc.) However when it comes to more involving work on the car I prefer to have that done by a professional mechanic with proper tools, knowledge, experience and transparency. This is where Chris and his crew at Melo Automotive are cream of the crop. They have just completed work on my GTI, and it was a flawless experience from the initial phonecall to driving off in my "like new" car. You get very respectful treatment, proper advice, no pressure of any kind, no attempts for upselling. Very knowledgeable and honest shop. And then there is that satisfaction you get from supporting local business owner in return for great service they provided you. Highly recommended!
