Used to be a great store and great experience but it’s under new ownership now and the new owners and staff are extremely shady, especially with charging you debit card and apple pay service fees. It has become a source of income for them.
Great place with affordable prices and good jam in downtown. Very cheap smokes and almost everything they have. Much better than super store such as walmart and no frills.
Small store but sells almost anything you would buy from a large grocery store but this store has GREAT prices! Laundry soap, toilet paper, Milk/cream, snacks is ALOT cheaper than Rabba or Metro. Wish they could take over the empty retail beside them and make their store larger. I always go here when my grandsons want viral items (chips, chocolate/candy) they usually have it but don't charge $20 for a bag of chips like the store down the street! The staff are friendly and keep the store stocked and clean! It's a small family run business so Im happy to support over Loblaws or Metro!
Usually a wonderful little secret store; hole-in-the-wall, but as of today I needed to report it to Toronto Public Health Department for COCKROACHES, two VERY out-of-date City of Toronto Public Health Department Inspection Notices/Results from 2018 and 2019 at the front of the store, and people bringing in their dogs to the store. I really hope that the store will clean up its act and not continue on a downward spiral; it has been a WONDERFUL treasure for decades previously. UPDATE! Toronto Public Health Department came in and the place got cleaned up, so it appears safe again. Will keep my eye on it for a while just in case.
The most cheapest products that I ever see among most of the convenience stores, it also sells Asian products which is great. Would love to stop by there at anytime.
Edit : unfortunately the shop hasn’t been the same for a bit. The clerk today was very lacklustre. Few times there’s a body odour smell in there. Variety gone down except Indian products. Prices keep going up almost every 2nd week. It’s not worth getting my basics here anymore. Too bad since this was my neighborhood spot to shop for over 7 years. Variety on all ethnic food sundries. From Arabic to Persian , Indian, Thai , Japanese , Chinese. Lots of spices , hard to find rare cooking items. Best of all, the owner is very honest and sweet. All prices are lower than the competitions even when on sale. I do most of my shopping there.
Pros. Cleanest and nicest smelling convenience store I’ve ever been in. Decent selection. Cons: was told in gruff tone “no credit card... Debit only!” Only during debit transaction, machine informed me of 15 cents extra debit surcharge. Left store feeling very nickle and dimed.
