I recently used Alexanian to clean two area rugs and was thoroughly impressed with their exceptional service. Initially, I spoke with both Laidy and Dakota, at the Hamilton cleaning location, who are very professional and answered all of my questions. They made the process very easy for me. The rugs were properly cleaned, repaired and delivered. I am very happy with the final outcome.
Purchased California shutters. Found store manager John tough to deal with. Paid deposit. Communication between Alexanian and third party company that comes out to pre-measure is not great. Then he charged credit for second payment before shutters delivered. Reversed the payment when I called after defensiveness. Then on install day - installer was fine, but could not do all windows because shutters for main window were measured and produced wrong. Wondering how installer leaves factory knowing shutters won’t fit! There were 3 shutters for main living room window. One was way bigger than others. Ok - mistakes happen. I called John, who was quick to take final payment before install, but argued with me when I asked him to hold back second payment until new shutter is produced and installed. Can take 5 weeks. He said that “the girl who does this is not here today and we will credit you tomorrow”. Just not professional. The product delivered and installed is fine and the installer was a pro. John is not the best company rep. Sorry to have to post this. The invoice given to me by John barely readable. I had to visit store to get receipt for second payment. Again, barely readable. TWO DAYS LATER At my request, Alexanian credited back 50% of my second payment on this job until the right sized shutters arrive. But no communication from John (the store manager) to let me know when that could be. My complaint here is really about Alexanian is the “middle man” broker of these window shutter services. The product and installation is usually fine but when there is an issue, Alexanian is not helping and I’m sure they get paid to along the food chain. Sorry to say this but this fellow John is reviewed similarly by others below. Arrogant when you call and no initiative to sort stuff out. I’m frankly surprised by the poor customer service. FIVE DAYS LATER Saw the name and contact info forregional manager below. Left a message and got a prompt call back from someone who replaced the other guy, who is gone. Should change voicemail name? Anyway, he listened to story and I told him about this review. He promised to read my review, look into the matter - and never called back. I just want to know when rest of my shutters could arrive. John, the store manager called and asked about my call t head office. To keep it short, we had the usual pained discussion where he told me the shutter company might eventually email him with a date. I asked him if HE WOULD MIND CALLING THEM FOR HIS CUSTOMER - me. He reluctantly agreed and then did call back a bunch of times, first call 2-3 weeks was the estimate and second call was that they just shipped and they will call me. I think Alexanian is still a family biz - and all businesses these days have quality issues. This one is just about being a middle man in an order process that takes orders but does not much for customers. The product however, seems fine as was the installer. When I told John about this review he asked “how many stars did I give them?” Gimme a break. I told him to go read it.
Just needed a simple carpet for a couple rooms as the owners before me clearly had pet "issues". Hank was great. Showed me a nice berber carpet, good price. Rush install too. Will absolutely go back for other units when the time comes.
Do NOT use this company, I have had the worst experience of my life with this company. I ordered a stair runner in Feb. Waited 3 weeks to find the sales person did not know how measure properly for a curving staircase so they had to remeasure. Waited 6 more weeks (they had run out of stock) to find that they had bound the edges very poorly (they even admitted that it should never have been delivered in that condition). They redid them only for us to find that they had made one piece upside down. Waited 3 more weeks and the installer is now 2 hours late. I cancelled him. I am so incredibly frustrated I can't believe they are still in business, from the way they treat their clients. Each I was the one following up with them. Not once did they call and tell me the status of my job. Shame on you Alexanian Carpets!
