I’ve only lived in this area for a few months but it’s hands down my favourite cafe in the city. I’ve had loads of their pastry’s (I try a new one each time) and I can’t recommend the Caramel Chocolate Euro Tart enough. Their Natas are fantastic, and so is their chocolate cake. So yum! I’m gonna visit often when I move away next year.
The staff here are always friendly. The shop is cute and has pretty much everything you would need. The locals that come in see. equally as kind and charming. Would much rather come here for coffee if I'm going to get it anywhere in Cabbagetown.
The staff here are super friendly & my experience is always lovely when I come by. My go-tos are their lattes & their bagels! The coffee card system is a really nice touch and their bagels are always fresh.
I normally do not like to leave bad reviews, but I felt like this one was due. My recent visit here was unfortunate. The staff all seemed to have a terrible demeanor & attitude. The staff struck me as being unenthused and angry with having to work their designated roles They were quite rude, to be honest. The overall impression was that they did not want to have to serve a croissant or a coffee, or do anything else. It seemed cumbersome and you got the vibe things were a chore, which made things extremely uncomfortable and it felt very unwelcoming. We used to love this place but the overall vibe in the past few visits were such a turnoff. Others had indicated the same during their visit and you could just sense the dissatisfaction We LOVE to support local.. But I think moving forward I would rather opt with Farm Boy or Eataly with the same pricing but better service. Good news: Food was good (but a bit pricey for what you got) Bad news: Service was extremely uncomfortable. I hope the owners can make a change as you would like clients/customers to feel welcome in your establishment.
The service at Epicure has sadly gone downhill. And especially with the side orders of attitude from Gen Z staff. Very noticeable. Walked in to staff chatting and ignoring waiting clients. And then attitude at the deli counter and coffee counter while simply asking for a cut wedge of cheese and thinly sliced meat. The service girl huffed and puffed and provided an attitude of I don't care while rolling her eyes for doing her job (really bad decorum/service). Waited about 7 minutes for the same person to make a latte (while just waiting to pay my bill). Other staff were around but all had the attitude and weren't doing anything. Really poor customer service! Your deli counter, coffee and check-out orders are coupled with whole a side of attitude and an "I don't care" impression which was left noted. Super disappointed as local patrons for many years. Sad to see this go downhill with poor staff that will drive customers away.
Love the staff and atmosphere here! If you’re looking for a New York style bagel, this is the place! Their everything bagel is fantastic. The blueberry muffin however was highly underwhelming, would not recommend it to be frank. The chocolate chip cookie was great however and quite large. Overall, love this place and will be back!
Wonderful shop. Fantastic Sandwiches. Breakfast sandwiches for 5 people was less than $50 and they were the best breakfast sandwiches we have had in a long time. My fav was with chorizo salami on a fresh bun. Bagels are great too. Staff are friendly. Service was quick.
