Both fish and meat are very good, especially those who like to eat fish should definitely visit Ababil. If you happen to meet Kabir Bhai, don't forget to try his hand-made tea, once you try it, you will fall in love with that tea. And the service and behavior of Ababil's staff is very good.
Customers, careful about buying items ‘buy two and get one free’, because they twist the sale price. They change the price instantly saying the sale price is for different items. So make sure about the sale price and item applicable to avoid regret and potential arguments and fights.
I bought 5 Hilsa for $100. Tried one and found tasteless. Wanted to exchange the rest four with other fishes but they denied to take back. This was the first time buying Hilsa from this store and decided not to go there for buying Hilsa at least.
ON Nov 7th they sold me a piece of meat with less fat and about 12.5 lb. Then took for make pieces, I came back after 20 minutes and found my meak was ready and packed. I came home and open that packet and found huge pieces of Fat. I wiegh and it was over 1.2 Kg
Truly one of the best grocery stores on Danforth. Best quality items at the best prices. An inspiration to the Bengali community. Best of luck for their endeavors.
Today went to the shop for meet. The attitude of the man who usally took the meet order (hopefully everyone knows who went to this grocery) was very rude. And that man always did this type of attitude. I don’t know is he the owner or employee. Your are doing good business because we banglai people are spending money on your grocery. So keep your attitude in your pocket. We are paying you for the goods, you are not doing any favour to us.
Dont shop at this place. One of the worst places I've ever been to. All they do is lie. My father came all the way from Montreal to buy some meat and fish and they lied to his face about the prices. These people are scammers so beware before purchasing anything from this store specially if it’s anything from the meat and fish section. We have had the same issue in the past with these people too. My father in law had asked for yellow chicken and the scammer went and cut white chicken instead and tried charging him the price of yellow chicken. These people then apologized for lying. Y’all want us to come forward to speak to your face but then run after us with free drinks when we leave and beg for us to buy your stuff LOOOOL
