Had a lovely and hilarious experience here. Found great gifts, but also wound up chatting and laughing with the ladies working today. It’s a very warm and welcoming spot. They were also extremely kind and patient while figuring out an issue at checkout. 10/10 will shop here again.
This is a weird thing to care about, but their visual merchandising is really on point! I love when they change their window display, they somehow make banal products like waterbottles look exciting. I’ve bought several treasured home goods here over the years, and always hit them up when I am looking for a nice gift.
Ok as usual I have mixed feelings. I'm enthusiastic that an independent retailer is thriving in the neighbourhood (that isn't a pizza place or a bar or restaurant). The staff are friendly and helpful. I wanted some taper candles. They are very hard to find these days. Everyone wants cylinders but I like mixing classic with modern. They didn't have any but sold me some nice very long cylindrical. There was a bit of a smudge on one, barely noticeable, so they gave me a decent discount - unasked for. That's just good business in my opinion. Thing is my complaint is the strong presence of perfumes and volatile oils from their products. (Lots of aromatic nicknacks and gewgaws therein. It actually hurt my eyes. I guess I'm the problem. Like I said, I like them. Decent prices, diverse and pretty products. Oh, and they promised to contact me next time they made an order from their candle supplier. Like I said....
