Have been to Piano Piano downtown a few times and its predecessor Splendido and enjoyed most all occasions. This was not quite the same. We found service to be surprisingly slow for a weekday lunch in a restaurant that maybe had 5 tables being served. The half sized app (that came with the lunch special) included more zucchini than it did calamari, but I would say the calamari morsels were tasty and decent. The mains (all pastas) came out more than 30 minutes past order and none of the items were hot - they ranged from lukewarm to room temperature which felt like either the items were sitting for quite a while or none of the items were fresh and just warmed to serve. We did receive a replacement on one dish, which arrived in only a couple of minutes later, but incredibly, was also not hot! All of the dishes did have some flavour but the bolognese seemed a bit soupy overall and the temperature unfortunately just sort of killed any potential. I suppose bread was orderable, but I half expected a small piece to perhaps sop up some of the sauce, but that was not part of any dish. The dessert-sized Tiramisu was fine but certainly not memorable either. Overall, I would not feel compelled to return. For East-end Italian I would likely head for more memorable entres at Ascari and Gio Rana or maybe try something new. For multi-location, I would likely go to Terroni for consistency of food and service.
The four of us Strolled on in here with no reservation and only high hopes as we know it’s always booked and busy. Nicole L is actually amazing and made the experience exactly what it was with her accommodations! The customer service was on point and so was the food! We opted in to share a bacon Alfredo pizza which was 10/10! The alla vodka pasta which was also amazing 11/10 and a few drinks ( lost in translation drink name) which were strong and made with love. The vibe was so chill we ended up overstaying our welcome LOL thank you so much for having us. It was 3 of our first times and we will definitely be back! Highly appreciate Piano Piano, if you have not been come here first Nicole is a vibe you’ll have a good experience!
Great place with fantastic service. Came to celebrate a birthday and got a fun little sign on the table to note that. Food was perfect, though the portions can be on a smaller side for mains depending on a dish, like gnocchi. But the food is perfectly balanced and worth indulging. We got burrata as an app and had some leftover for after the dinner to enjoy with wine. Worth a visit. Will definitely be back again.
Lovely evening on the patio. However the waitress couldn’t seem to remember our orders. Came back 3 times to ask which entrees we ordered. The food was very good when it finally arrived. If you want a $440 overpriced 4 client 3 hr experience this would be your place. Once was enough for us.
Yummiest thing I have tried in awhile, great atmosphere super welcoming and calm great choice of music and the service was the best, always checking on us and making sure that we have a full Glass of water. Would recommend again super wonderful evening this is a truly wonderful place!
Now that I've eaten there a couple of times and had a decent portion of the menu I can confidently say that Piano Piano Leslievile is worth the trip if not trips. The service is good and generally fast while the food is just as good. Personal favorite of mine are the champ, canestri a la vodka and fritto misto. The pizza tastes fresh while the texture is superb. Bubly cheese and crunchy crust. The pastas are also amazing. I can confidently say that this place has earned my business, five stars.
I have been to the Leslieville location a few times now and I absolutely love the food and atmosphere. Service is generally on point although they could use a few more staff during busy summer days on the patio. All that considered, Piano Piano in Leslieville delivers a beautiful experience and their pizza is to die for; bonus points for the fun experience of cutting your own pie any shape you want.
