We have to agree with the bad reviews, the place looks authentic, the menu sounds great. We ordered the molcajete, the shrimp were on a burnt piece of cheese, the cilantro had rotten pieces, no guacamole (which a lot of people have mentioned), the food was pretty bland, no sauces with it, meat that was tough and the other cuts were grizzly and so mushy. Me and my husband felt sick after, that night we had stomach aches. I would not recommend this place, will never go back. Definitely not worth the money.
Worst experience of my life. I have never left a bad review, but I need to tell this story. I came in with two of my friends for late lunch. We ordered our food and 1 friend received their order while me and my other friend waited, we waited 40 minutes and then asked the server the status of our order. She told us that the server who took our order ended her shift and they lost the order. After being in the restaurant for one hour (also to note, there was 1-2 other tables, there was more staff than people in the resto) but we decided to just get the bills and leave. The server proceeds to comp my friend’s order that was never received and then give her the food to-go as a saving grace. I asked her if the same would apply to my order, could I get the food I ordered to-go and get mine comped as well? The server said, sorry no you can’t. Me and my friend were in the same situation but she got her food to-go and I left empty handed. I can’t help but feel like this situation is unfair, why did me and my friend get treated differently for the same situation? The service dropped the ball completely and instead of trying to repair it they didn’t hold any accountability. Cherry on top is my friends were treating me for my early birthday lunch LOL. I’ve worked as a server in this industry for 10+ years and I have never ever seen this level of disrespect. Also I tried my friends 1$ tacos and they were SO SOGGY and oily. The Latin world across the street is so much better, I have gone there many times!!! Good day y’all.
We had a very poor dining experience. The meat was incredibly tough, completely lacking flavor, and the sauces tasted expired — and sadly, they tasted exactly like it. It was so uncomfortable that we couldn’t even finish our plates. Don’t get me wrong, this place used to be one of our personal favorites for years. The previous four or five times we visited, everything was absolutely amazing — flavorful, fresh, and on point. That’s why today was such a shock. The drop in quality was significant, and it made for an extremely unpleasant moment for us. We simply requested the bill and left as soon as possible. As Latinos, we are very familiar with authentic Latin flavors, so I don’t believe our impressions were mistaken. We’re both deeply disappointed and hope the restaurant can return to the high standards it once had.
Upon walking into the place, the decor was unique and inviting. We sat outside because the weather was nice, and we had high hopes for this place. Strike 1: The advertised $1 tacos Mon-Fri are now Mon-Wed, so we felt a little upset that we came on a Thursday. Fair enough. Strike 2: My fiancée orders 2 tacos with no cilantro, and they ignore her dietary restrictions. Worse yet, we send it back, and instead of refiring the order, they pick off the surface cilantro and she has to spit out the cilantro after one bite in. The tacos also came back ice cold, and everyone was waiting for her order to start eating, so now everything's cold. Strike 3: I order taco al pastor and papa asada, and they're out of potatoes. They were also out of cactus, guava flavoured drinks, and pineapples. While they told me about the papa asada, they choose not to tell me they're out of pineapples too. Instead, they serve me my tacos without pineapples which is half of its ingredients. The only saving grace was our server, "Tarde" (at least that's what it said on the receipt), who was super kind to us. He handed us the machine bypassing the tip option, and I felt bad for him. The kitchen really needs to step it up. Aside from the issues above, the food was still overall dry and bland. The fish tacos my friend had were super burnt and all the tacos needed to be sauced up ourselves. Needless to say, we will not be coming back.
They said a dollar taco on the sign but did not say it is only Monday to Wednesday. Did not have half of the food we wanted to order on the menu, no guava flavor juice, no pineapple for the taco when it is only pork and pineapple for the taco!!! And NO POTATO? Crazy, what ingredients do the restaurant have….. As well we told the restaurant no cilantro for the taco as my friend would only taste soap if there is cilantro in the food. Server took the food back and took them around ten minute to bring the food back, expected fresh new made taco but some how there is still bits of cilantro in the taco! And the other taco is now fully cold due to all the wait….. server was nice felt back for him but man, the restaurant gotta step their game up with their business. Crazyyyyy.
Visited today with my friends for some mexican food. Our experience was amazing! Even when the place was full, our server took her time to explain some questions we had about the menu. She was very friendly, and the enchiladas were especially flavourful, we loved it! Even the hot sauces were delicious, pretty spicy too
You walk in, and it feels like you have traveled to Mexico . The warmth of the people, the vibrant colours, the art inside the restaurant, the music, and the matchless taste of the food! It's a whole experience. I can't get enough of the tacos ...the salsas and the Tamarindo juice! ❤️ I bought a medium jar of the salsa for home. Don't take my word for it.Try it yourself It's a whole vibe.
