I went to Scooter Girl with a specific mission: to buy a stomp rocket as a birthday gift for my niece. The woman working showed me where they were, and I mentioned it was for a two year old. She cautioned me that a child that small wouldn’t be able to get the kind of momentum going needed to really launch the rocket, and suggested a more age appropriate choice of gift that would provide my niece with a similar type of fun. That’s the type of insight and service you don’t get when you buy something online - if I had gone on Amazon, nobody would have stopped me from buying a gift that would be a total flop. My family has been buying all our birthday and Christmas gifts here for more than a year. Very nice store and kind personnel. Yesterday our daughter had opened her piggy bank and for several days talked about finding something in Scooter Girl. She loves the place and allways chat with the personnel. When she handed over her allowance the store owner got really angry and shamed me and my wife for teaching our daughter to be so unkind making a person working in a store count coins. We were a bit shocked. In hindsight we could see it was maybe inconsiderate but had thought of it as a fun thing receiving a happy little girl's savings.
I really want share the happy experience with their online shop. I was shopping for some Jelly Cats plushies for Christmas gifts for friends and end up I found this local shop. They do offer local delivery and I believe it's because the Canada Post are on strike right now. I wasn't sure if my address it's within the delivery zone, so that I sent a message online and asked more details about the local delivery process. They responded to me super quickly, very friendly and solved all of my concerns. After that I placed my order at mid night, turn out I received my order same day in the evening, how amazing. The local delivery fee it's definitely worth it. Thanks for the amazing shopping experience.
Friendly, helpful staff helped us pick out a great holiday gift today for a kiddo in our lives! They have a great range of toys, activities, and puzzles at different price points.
I have been shopping at this store for many years. The initial experience walking in with my Mom was fine, clean and organized. She found something small for my son labelled $5.99. But upon taking it to the cashier we were abruptly and rudely informed it had been mislabelled by a new employee and the price was actually $10.99. I mentioned that she should honour the $5.99 and there are laws in place to protect consumers from this type of thing. The woman, who I can only assume was the owner, told me I was wrong and refused to sell us the item at $5.99. In these times I would’ve thought it would be more important to make the sale and keep the customer happy, than lose the sale and lose two long time customers and risk a bad review. I understand mistakes happen, but for customer service sake you should’ve honoured the original price. I will never shop at this store again simply for the rude way she felt she needed to speak to us and lack of moral responsibility towards customers. Buyer beware!!!
Perhaps it's time to leave Reynald for someone better. Someone who doesn't cheat on his wife with a Toronto based female sound mixer. Edit If the owner chooses to be that clueless or naive that's her choice. She has been told. What she does with that information is her choice. And yes I have been to your store. Purchased a few Smurfs figures. Wonderful store.
