I live in the area but haven’t actually been to this shop all that much, but I’ll definitely be going more often after today. I had a flat tire on my cargo bike when picking up my daughter on a busy Saturday afternoon. The folks here quickly got my flat fixed for me so I could get home. I was impressed how quick they were, even with a busy weekend day for them. Definitely will go more and recommend them!
I’m very disappointed with the service I received at Bateman’s Bicycle. I brought my bike in over a month ago after it was damaged in a collision, and the repair process was drawn out, disorganized, and poorly communicated. The first replacement wheel they installed wasn’t even the correct quick-release type — something I had to discover myself when I got home. I was repeatedly given inaccurate timelines for when the proper part would arrive, and I had to keep chasing for updates rather than receiving any proactive communication. Even small details like replacing the reflector from the damaged wheel were overlooked. After weeks of delays and inconsistent information, I could not wait any longer and picked up my bike, still without the correct part. I also emailed management to share my concerns and never received a reply. Overall, this was a frustrating and disappointing experience that fell far short of basic professionalism and customer service.
Was in Toronto for work - wanted to see the city and go for a ride. Mike set me up with a sweet BMC RoadMachine 5 for a quick rental. Awesome shop, nice people. Hopefully work sends me back soon!
Bad attitude from the darkish looking indian guy my first time going there, dont worry there's a reason so many TO businesses are closing down, many reasons but bad attitude is one of them, they fail to realise ppl that want to support local businesses would just call it quits and spend their money elsewhere or just on Amazon etc. Peace ✌️
I got flat tire and brought my bike to the shop at 4:15, although they close at 5 but the staffs were not very happy to serve. They were just chilling on the chairs doing nothing. I paid almost $35. A very young guy changed new tire for me and didn’t put the wheel back properly. Not enough air. I just realized 2 days after. And when I was riding on the street the chain fell off because he didn’t tighten up the screw. Now the back wheel is tilt. I need to spend money for another bike store for fixing it. I hope the manager could read this and take a look at your staffs and how you serve the customers. Bad attitude, bad service and high price!
Excellent customer experience. In less than two days I got a fully custom Santa Cruz Bronson. Price was also fair and reasonable. Rob was helping me out through the process and provided excellent service even after regular working hours. I totally recommend Rob and his team at Bateman’s. Unfortunately service has declined at the Batemans Bathurst street location. On one incident I bought a pair of high end tubeless carbon wheels and new tires from them and left my new bike with them to have the wheels and tires installed. On the first ride going into a corner both tires went flat. On inspection there was no tire sealant installed. Had the tire failed at high speed it could have been a dangerous accident damaging the bike and risking my well being. When I called the shop and spoke with Mike the manager he tried to ‘gaslight’ me by saying they did that all the time and if a tubeless tire was holding air it didn’t need sealant. Being an experienced cyclist having other bikes with tubeless tires, I found such a dishonest excuse to be disrespectful and unprofessional. I gave the shop other chances to redeem themselves but had other issues with their service. I’d recommend going to another bike shop.
