I had another great experience at Brockton Cyclery today! Jacob helped me out and he was super friendly, knowledgeable, and quick. I just needed a tube change, and he had it done in no time. I have been coming here for a long time, and honestly, it’s the best bike shop in Toronto , fast service, solid quality, and way more reasonable prices compared to other places. Highly recommend!♀️
after a tune-up and a couple of replacements, they turned my old bike into a smooth riding machine! the staff was super helpful explaining everything, not forcing anything on me, and giving me options. the turnaround time was super quick, and no appointment needed just walked in. highly recommend these guys!
I'm dropping a review almost 4 years after I had my service in there. This shop was recommended by a friend and I cheated on my mechanics just to try something different. I had some issues with my bike and one of them was poor gear shifting. The mechanic said my derailleur hanger was bent and I needed a new one. He charged me nearly $200 for the hanger alone. Today, 4 years after, I learned that the same exact hanger is $20 and even if they're a little bent, they can still be straightened. Also, even after all the service was done and the new hanger was installed, I still had issues with shifting. I'm not even in the country anymore, this was so long ago, don't even know who was the mechanic but I felt like I needed to drop this review. Just crazy.
Had a great experience here, usually I swing by and get some air for my tires but needed some service today and it was quick, efficient and the mechanic told me exactly what was going on! Great vibes, 10/10 humans working there!
This shop is swell. Always kind service and solid, quality merchandise. Today I needed help with a few odd-spec bolts for my tandem. The nice chap at the service desk handed me a box of bolts and allowed me to poke through and find what I needed. No charge. Bike shops have it rough these days. We need to support good folks like these!
Had a flat tire, asked if I could buy a tube and borrow their pump and a 15mm wrench. They told me they couldn't lend me the tool even if I changed the tire in plain view. I used to buy parts here, never again, I'm going to find a shop that cares more about their customers.
I wish I could give these guys a better rating. They’re located in my neighbourhood which could do with a decent bike/repair shop. I have a 6-year old Danish bicycle which apparently needed its rear drum brake replaced. It sounded like a straight-forward repair job until the Brocton Cyclery folks decided to make some fundamental changes, without my consent. Instead of drum brakes, they installed external brakes that required a series of extra bike modifications. After over 2 weeks, I’ve finally got my bike back. Needless to say, I was shocked to discover two awkwardly mounted external brakes over my bike's back fender. It looked like a plastic surgery gone wrong. After I’ve asked them to do what we’ve agreed on, they claimed the internal hub actually wasn’t available. To my surprise, when I called around to other shops, I learned the hub was in fact easily available. At that point, I've decided to take my bike elsewhere. I asked Brocton Cyclery to remove all the parts they had installed and to fully refund me. Sadly, the additional repair cost of bringing my bike back to its original state has substantially increased— turning the whole situation into a truly regrettable experience. Lesson learned? Make sure to have Brocton Cyclery give you a written work order before handing your bike over to them.
