It’s a small dessert shop at Union Station (underground level, one of the food courts) offering a summer selection of gelato and year-round soft ice cream, with flavors usually changing about once a month. There are no tables, but it’s worth stopping by for soft ice cream any time of year, or for gelato during the summer. The service is friendly, portions are generous, and their gelatos—although the selection is limited—are really good! The Pistachio and Salty Caramel mix offers endless pleasure through the contrast of mild salty notes and the layered sweetness of pistachio and caramel. I also tried their Tiramisu gelato and would recommend pairing it with Salty Caramel or something on the tangier side, like Limoncello or mixed berries. Two particularly nice combinations are Tiramisu & Mango and Passionfruit & Pistachio, both balancing bright, slightly sour flavors with richer, sweeter ones. The Passionfruit and Pistachio pairing is especially interesting, as the contrast is more pronounced. However, their gelatos tend to be a bit too sweet for my taste. Still, I would recommend this spot to treat yourself to some decadent pleasure.
Brigadeiros are good but perhaps expensive for how small they are. Extremely rich and incredibly crafted, they are a work of art. If you need to get someone a gift and they like desserts, this is the place. I'd get just one to try it if you've never been.
I’ve ordered the $12 box from too good to go 4 times now. It’s a nice treat at a good price. I recently got to try the crème brûlée flavor, that’s my favorite flavor so far! And the soft serve is really great too! Yum!
There was only 1 person working, she was serving the customers, whereas there was nobody at the cash station where the order had to be placed before. Waited for 20 minutes with no service, had to leave empty handed. They should’ve mentioned this as well on their Instagram reels about the lack of staff and wait time
Excellent chocolaterie in Union Station. I asked the staff to pick me three bonbons of their choice. I was given "Creme Brulee," "The Classic," and "Salted Caramel." I was surprised to learn that the core of these bonbons is made of sweetened condensed milk. This is interesting, because even though this is technically simpler to make than traditional Belgian chocolates, it is just as pleasant. In fact, the milk core has a pleasant texture and is balanced in sweetness; there is no sugar rush like with regular chocolate and there is no chalky consistency as with chocolate. It's different and pleasant in its own way. The milk core is flat, and unlike chocolate, does not leave an acidic after taste, and it is the culinary treatment of the core and its dressing that differentiates the bonbons from each other. The texture of the core is also pleasant; it is soft to chew and it feels like pure fudge. These bonbons reminded me of the milk sweets from south Indian confectionaries which are not sold anywhere in the downtown core, so trying these bonbons gave me flashbacks. You must try these, I am sure you are likely to have a new culinary experience. All three flavours chosen for me were excellent. Presentation was also excellent. This place truly punches above its weight. I was as pleased with these three bonbons as with stuff from Laderach. The store is nicely kept, staff was super friendly. Totally unpretentious and welcoming to all. Will definitely stop by for more stuff when I need a sugar fix. Goes nicely with coffee btw
A little pricey, but a decadent, beautiful treat. It's difficult to compare to anything else that I've had. Definitely should be tried and that soft serve is delicious
Delicious brigadeiros and service with a smile! Great variety of flavours and beautiful packaging too! What a treat! These are salted caramel, passion fruit, strawberry and pistachio.
