I’m very disappointed with my experience at this dental clinic. I came with Canadian Dental Care Plan insurance, which covers 100% of the costs, yet I was asked to pay over $100 out of pocket at every visit. The cheque amounts they showed me seemed highly overpriced, and I started feeling like they were trying to add unnecessary procedures just to charge more. They told me I needed a crown, but I decided to get a second opinion from other experienced dentists — and they confirmed that a crown was not needed. My teeth were fixed properly elsewhere, with no extra payments, fully covered by my insurance. Overall, I feel this clinic is not transparent with pricing and pushes treatments that may not be necessary. I wouldn’t recommend it if you want honest service and clear billing.
Saw the Smyl clinic while I was getting a haircut across the street and decided to give them a try. It was my first dental visit after moving to Canada so I was a bit nervous. Taneshia, Shiva, Dr. Mat, and Laura could not have been more welcoming, kind, and professional. The oral exam was comprehensive and it really feels like they have your best interests in mind. Honestly the best dental service I have ever had! Was nervous to go to smyl as it had been 5 years since I had stepped foot into a dental clinic after a bad experience with a different dentist but the staff at SMYL have been wonderful. Every member of the team has made my appointments as smooth and painless as possible. Thank you smyl for your awesome care and you are stuck with me as a client :)
Our family of 4 recently moved to SMYL Dentistry - and it’s been a dream since day one. Taneshia has been so helpful and patient with us as we moved our files over. And ever since, she’s been so warm and kind with all interactions we’ve had. The Dentists, Assistants, and Hygienists have all been wonderful to work with - friendly, professional, and full of great knowledge! Recently, our 13 year old son had to have 2 stubborn baby teeth extracted, and even though he’s scared of needles - they were so gentle with him, that he said it was “perfect”. He came home and said how much he liked everyone there, which says something after teeth being pulled! :) We are so happy with our move to this Dentistry office - highly recommend!
