If you're thinking about getting your teeth cleaned here, do it. This clinic is so welcoming and the receptionists here are really kind. I had Preet as my hygienist and she made me feel so comfortable, cleaned my teeth properly and explained everything as she went. Even the dentist was super attentive and caring. Truly recommend this place ?
I found this dental office through HealthX and chose them primarily for convenience, as we recently moved to the area. However, I was disappointed that they did not offer direct billing. Even more frustrating was their failure to provide estimates before appointments or confirm with insurance what was covered and what wasn't. As a result, we had to pay out of pocket twice, totaling over $1000 for non-urgent treatment. This lack of communication and transparency led to unexpected financial surprises. Other dental offices I've visited have always provided this common courtesy beforehand to avoid such issues. I'm not sure if this is an oversight by the front desk staff (which happened twice!) or a policy of Yonge and Front Dental, but it's a small step that the dental office could take to show they care about their patients rather than just making money off them. This approach would help patients avoid unexpected financial shocks and enable them to make more informed decisions about proceeding with treatment. Being upfront about estimates prior to treatment and obtaining consent for the total costs would significantly improve the patient experience and my rating.
I have been going to Yonge Front Dental for many years, but ultimately now will change my dental work elsewhere. I had been advised and recommended by them to have gum grafts, an appointment booked for over three months at which time I had made arrangements to be off work to give time for recovery - three days before they call and leave a voicemail - without reason as to what other than a 'call us back about your appointment' subsequently I would call after the weekend at which time would be told my appointment was being canceled - their solution to offer another appointment two weeks later - very disappointing given these are not just "standard cleanings" and can be so easily changed to accommodate for. When asked if the dentist was away you would assume they would know ahead of time - a simple "oh he's here, just needs schedule change" no reason given. Unacceptable and unprofessional - as beautiful of a place for dental work there are many more in the GTA and as such will take my business elsewhere
I found Yonge and Front dental in August 2024 while considering my options on where to get Invisalign done. This location was steps away from home, and able to offer a lower cost than my family dental office, so I went for a consultation. At first, I had a good experience meeting the receptionist, Anita, and the dentist who would oversee the process. They answered all of my questions and made me feel comfortable, and that they were competent. After my consult, they fit me in for my scans the same day and said everything would be sent off to Invisalign. That appointment was on August 16. I was booked in to come back on September 13 for next steps. When I arrived, I was placed in a room with a new dentist who I had never met. I had to start over, as the dentist who I had done the consult with before had left the location. I was surprised by the information and uncomfortable and upset in that moment because no one had informed me. The new dentist answered all of my questions about how many years he has been doing Invisalign, and why I should feel comfortable trusting him in this process instead. I felt more at ease after speaking with him and getting to know him, and we proceeded to re-do all of my scans and photos to be sent off to Invisalign. The office said they would be in touch with next steps. On October 07, I emailed to ask if anything had come back from Invisalign yet. I received a response that nothing had come back and they would follow up. On October 15, I emailed again to ask if anything had come back. I did not receive a reply. I called the office on October 24 and left a message. I received an email from a new hygienist who told me “Currently, we are not starting any new Invisalign treatments. If you’d like to explore other dentists that offer Invisalign, please feel free to do so.” I called the office and spoke with the new receptionist, who explained to me that the dentist I had seen last time had left the practice as well, and so did the receptionist I was familiar with as well, Anita. I was extremely upset by this because of the wasted time I spent, the way I gave them a second chance and put my trust back in them twice to have it broken again. I don’t recommend going here not only for Invisalign, but also because of the disorganization, the lack of communication, and because I feel that the number of staff leaving shows a deeper issue here. I’m just glad I never started the process or fronted any payments. I can’t imagine how much worse the situation could have been. Stay away.
Had wisdom tooth extraction and my experience was great with Dr Farnaz and John. Very friendly staff and good care. I was scared before but after procedure I was surprised how easy it was. Great clinic
I have been to several dentist and i have to say this place is the worst experience i have had. I had gone in for a simple cleaning that i get done every six months, after the cleaning the hygienist calls Dr Farnaz to check 2 of my teeth she though needed attention, without doing any x-rays on my teeth Farnaz decided that I need fillings on two of my teeth that has no cavities. They then go on to decide for me that I should get the fillings done immediately without even having the courtesy of informing me why it was necessary and what exactly where their findings! Furthermore my insurance allows 8 units per year for scalling, they utilized my entire 8 units in one sitting, whereas for my partner they utilized only 4 units. My partner who got cleaning done for the first time in her life surprising needed way less than mine, who gets cleaning more frequently, her bill was a total of CAD 287, while mine was CAD 536. What I have noticed about this place and the people working there is they use you as a guinea pig to make big bucks, there is something not ethical about the way they treat their patients and palm on unnecessary procedures on you. They were very keen to use up all the dental benefits before the year end, this has scam written all over it.
