very upset with the service was poor I ordered the past with mushroom and it was not good the the portion was very small it was good for little kid the brushet was 4 slice with cheese on and the dish with the fig and cheese was very poorly only small one we dint even get bread for both pasta dish I will and i order calabrese panzo it only had cheese and sauce with little toping never go back and I wood not even recommended to no one
This place is tiny but oh so cozy. I found it randomly on Google looking for a dinner place that could feed a picky vegetarian after a trip to a Christmas Pop Up on Bloor. Thus our trip to Trattoria Taverniti North. Wednesday night, 7:30pm reso. We arrived at 7:15 and were immediately sat at a table. The first impression was the place SMELLED absolutely INCREDIBLE. My dinner date and I both ordered Tap Water and San Pellegrinos. We were recommended the Arancini which was divine and I also ordered bread, which I didn't LOVE, but the Balsamic Glaze dip was delicious. I don't get to "order off the menu" very often as I've been fed hidden meat and hidden chicken stock in the past which makes me violently ill but the server, who is also the GM, I believe, a lovely, charming Italian man, asked me what I liked and didn't like and what I was allergic to and then said "do you trust me". So I let him order something from the kitchen on my behalf. It felt amazing to be able to do that, finally. My dinner date ordered Penne Rosina and absolutely adored it. I received a beautiful pasta with melted parmigiano on the bottom and slathered in pomodoro sauce and fresh mushrooms. Then when we thought we were done, the manager told us that the Tiramisu was THAT GOOD, so we each ordered a slice to go after each receiving a small bite sized sample of it. I can confidently say that I am now ruinined from Tiramisu ANYWHERE else and I will definitely be back to this resto. It's small, make a reso. And bring an appetite. And go on an off-night! Enjoy.
5/5 stars! Trattoria Taverniti North is a must-visit. Guys, as a certified meatball connoisseur, you have to believe me, these meatballs were divine, and the sauce was perfectly delicious! Beyond the food, the service was truly exceptional. Our waiter, Fjorentin, was a pleasure, attentive, and made the whole experience fantastic. This restaurant is truly lucky to have him! Highly recommend for a great Italian meal!
A hidden gem! My fiance and I celebrated our anniversary here and we had such a good time. We ordered calamari, two rigatoni dishes (a spicy one and the daily special), and the tiramisu for dessert. The portions were big and everything tasted perfect. Florentine was the only person working the front-of-house that night, but he did an amazing job. It was a busy Friday night, but he had time to crack jokes with us as he was walking past by with orders in his hands, which went beyond our expectations. This has become our new go-to spot for Italian food. See you soon, Florentine! :)
The food was okay, 3 stars only for Tiramisu which saved the day. Had to wait 30 mins for the table only to realize the food was not cooked upto the mark.
A gem in the Davenport neighbourhood, this place checks all the boxes. Authentic, often made-in-house pasta, with a small and focused Italian menu also featuring pizza and antipasto. Immaculate cozy vibes, exceptionally friendly service, a good selection of wines and best of all: incredibly affordable for the quality of food you get here. One of the last nice places you can find where a romantic date for two on a budget of ~$100 ish (plus tip) is actually reasonable. Highly recommend the gnocchi gorgonzola and the pappardelle funghi
The service is not the best. I ordered a coffee and timbits, I was standing at the cashier for about 5 min and nobody came to see what I was gonna order , then finally someone came I had to wate another 3 minutes for my timbits because the lady started doing something and forgot my order... not the best
