I had a poor overall experience at this restaurant. My friend and I felt that were given much worse service than those around us, possible due to our being slightly underdressed, as we are not locals and only decided later on to seek out a local Italian restaurant. Reviews mention a more laid-back, “family” environment, so we thought we would be made welcome. We seemed to have been wrong, as we showed the staff nothing but the utmost respect but were neglected and borderline disrespected. Two positives: we were seated around 15 minutes before our reservation, which was convenient. And the woman with short blonde hair who walked us to our table was nice. The staff overall was friendly, with smiles on their faces, but the waitstaff was neglectful as I will expand on in the following paragraph. We were all but ignored for most of our dinner. Our waiter was friendly in our few interactions with him, but we felt severely neglected. I think our waiter only checked on us once the entire meal, despite us wanting to ask about ordering more items and get refills of water. He walked past our table NUMEROUS times to attend to other tables, ignoring our empty plates and water glasses. It was at this point we decided we would simply ask for the check and leave… a task that is easier said than done, evidently. The check was not split between my friend and I despite our waiter asking us if we wanted it split and us saying yes. We did not feel like waiting another 20 minutes for a new check, so my friend paid and I reimbursed him. The food was subpar. My friend found his pasta bland and mediocre compared to other Italian restaurants he’d been to. The venison appetizer was unique and generally ok. My $39 seafood platter was unacceptable. I ate my entire entree in 5 minutes and was still hungry. I even ate the lemon given to me for my seafood because the quantity of food was so low. I was angry, and had a growling stomach, as I walked out of this restaurant. My friend and I took the streetcar two stops down the street and had a second dinner. Lucky for me, there are hundreds of other better restaurants I can try the next time I’m in Toronto.
I had the most incredible experience at this Italian restaurant! I didn’t have a reservation, but Anita—the owner—went above and beyond to welcome and accommodate me with genuine warmth and hospitality. The food was absolutely unreal… every dish was bursting with fresh flavour, quality ingredients, and that authentic Italian comfort that just makes you feel at home. But honestly, the service made it unforgettable. Anita truly cares about her guests, and it shows. If you’re looking for amazing food, exceptional service, and an atmosphere that treats you like family, this place is a must-visit. Highly recommend!
I was there celebrating my daughter’s engagement with a dinner party of 20 people. The service was outstanding, the food was to die for. A very cozy welcoming atmosphere perfect for celebrating a special event !! Bravo !!
workers are extremely rude!!! I was in the area and my cousin needed to use the restroom. We were completely sober, but she wasn’t feeling well. Instead of saying “so sorry washrooms are for customers only” the guy at the bar was yelling at us to get out. I told him it was an emergency and he didn’t ask if we were okay or if she needed water or ANYTHING. He was so careless and had zero sympathy, this business is unprofessional. I would never ever come here to eat.
The journey to get to this location was painful with the traffic but it was all worth it at the end. I recommend the Cod on the menu which I had and it was really good. However I should say that for a person who loves Fish that was the only dish available. We were a big group and had the privilege of been served by Anita who is also the owner and I loved the positive attitude of this lady. All in all I would go again to this place to have a rich dinner if I lived DT. Thank you Anita.
I took my grandmother from out of town here for a rare night out, that we were very much looking forward to. While the burratina and ragu was tasty, I was served raw, old seafood in a risotto that shouldn't have left the kitchen. We also were largely ignored by our servers throughout the meal, and had to finally wave someone down to talk about the issue. Even then the service was incredibly rushed. Long story short, we were not made to feel welcome in this restaurant and won't be back.
I hosted a group of friends last night and we got the best service from Marty he was funny and knowledgeable about the menu. The atmosphere was amazing and the food was incredible. Even the owner was super friendly and caring about our time spent there. She checked on us a few times which you never see at any restaurant. The only disappointment was that they didn't have some items in the menu but that'll just make us go back to try them another time. A definite must try restaurant.
