Scam, completely unprofessional, and incredibly rude. This was a huge disappointment. When I went to order, I was asking questions to the cashier because there isn't alot of info on the menu, and she was rude and dismissive. I asked her if the bowl came with veggies to which she responded "No". I then asked her if I could choose my toppings for the tacos, and she said I could. Its ~$18 after tax for two tacos so I was expecting to be able to add some toppings. I thought she would ask me what I wanted on my tacos, but she didn't so I thought I'd be asked as the tacos were being assembled - pretty standard for a mexican takeout place. But they didn't ask. I'm dairy free but they added cheese to my tacos, thankfully, I saw them making the tacos and let them know I couldn't have cheese. Then they handed me the tacos with only cilantro and cucumber - I'm allergic to cilantro. When I asked them if I could get different toppings, they simply responded "No" - and when I let them know that the cashier told me I would be able to, she said "No" and was super dismissive. Since it was lunch time and there were alot of people in line, I stepped to the side and went back later so that I didn't impact their business. When I noticed the rush had died down, I went to the cashier and asked them if I would be able to get a refund since I'm allergic to cilantro, and she was incredibly rude. She said "I can't give you a refund because there's nothing wrong with it". I responded by informing her that she said that I'd be able to pick my toppings and that I was just waiting since she hadn't clarified what would be on the tacos and because theres no info on the menu about what is included in the tacos. She said that it was my fault for not saying anything earlier, even though I asked her if I could choose the toppings. When I pushed back she said "you can go talk to the manager", when I asked who the manager was, she simply responded "someone around here". Thankfully, the other worker bought the manager who gave me a refund, but as we waited she said "never order from my restaurant without saying what your allergies are". Thankfully, I will never order from this restaurant period.

Very average but very expensive taco! And the hot sauce was packed in an open container in the takeout box - made a complete mess. The topping on the was messy!!

Stopped by for lunch while staying at the Sheraton, since the restaurant is in Chef's Hall right across the street. I got a burrito bowl with shrimp and it was delicious and hit the spot. Added guac too because who doesn't love guac? The staff there were super nice and it's kind of fun to be able to watch them make the order. If you eat in, it's served in a nice bowl too which I loved. I also found the price decent for the amount of food, and it was very filling.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Best beef taco in Toronto! If this taco place were in Mexico, it would still be above average… that’s how good it is. Authentic flavor, perfectly seasoned meat with a perfect cheese crust and great service. Easily the best spot in the city for real tacos.✨

Tecolote at Chef’s Hall is a really nice spot for Mexican food. The food is tasty and well-prepared, with fresh flavors that stand out. The place itself has a great vibe since it’s inside Chef’s Hall, making it a lively and enjoyable atmosphere to grab a meal. Overall, a very good experience — just shy of perfect, but definitely worth a visit if you’re looking for quality Mexican food in downtown Toronto.

I have to say that after trying multiple Mexican restaurants in dt, this is far the best option if you’re looking for an authentic Mexican tasting. Xavier and his team are just the most lovely and hospitable peeps I’ve ever seen! Thanks for always give a wonderful experience to your clients. ❤️

Had a great experience at Tecolote! The burrito bowl was amazing and the nachos were loaded and delicious. Everything tasted authentic. Definitely a spot I’d recommend for tasty Mexican food!
