We just stopped by around this time (Saturday 4:20pm) with our dog. Our dog managed to get to 2 of the treats that were on the shelves near the floor and started eating it. For some reason the young girl (brunette) made a rude sassy comment implying we were not going to pay for the treats. When we confronted her about it, she began to roll her eyes. We have been to hundreds of pet stores where our dog would eat the treats in the store without this level of disrespect. Obviously if our dog is eating a treat in the store, we will pay for it. Please ensure your employees in client facing roles are properly trained to handle these interactions with more professionalism.
I’ve been coming to Pet Valu on King St. for over two years, and this place never disappoints! The staff are so attentive and always make sure every customer is treated well and finds exactly what they’re looking for. Once, I was really stressed about my dog’s allergies, and Desiree and Nai went above and beyond to help. They patiently explained everything, helped me choose the right food, and my dog felt so much better within a week! Everyone here is so knowledgeable when it comes to dog and cat health. The store carries everything you could need, and the pet wash area is always spotless, even when it’s busy. They truly take pride in keeping the place clean and organized. Plus, they always have great deals and adorable handmade treats. I absolutely love this store and my dog loves it even more!
I love bringing my puppy to Pet Valu to the King and Bathurst location. They have a great selection of treats and the staff are so friendly and helpful. I especially appreciate all the affection my puppy gets from Donna who helped me with my first dog when she was a puppy years ago. Donna helped me learn about puppy proofing my home, house training, and basic commands at another Pet Valu location she was working at. I knew I recognized her from before as soon I heard her perk up for my new pup and was really happy to have crossed paths with her years later. Thanks Pet Valu for maintaining a really friendly brand for customers.
I loved the store: it seems to me that it offers higher variety of products compared to other pet value branches. Also, people in this store are very friendly ?
Good customer service and they often have some great deals! I’ve used the self-serve dog wash a couple times with my dog and it was a seamless experience every single time.
They are open pretty late even on Sundays (usually 9pm!), and often open most holidays. Happily shop here for my pets all the time and I am really appreciative to have somewhere that sells reptile products in the area. Can even get pee pads and little treats if you have friends visit your condo with their pups (or pee clean up spray if you didn’t think that far ahead…whoops).
Weekends are really great time to go where staff go above and beyond. Girl with braids, guy with tattoos, girl with blond hair whose names I forgot to ask. Wishing more people worked at the same time sometimes when you want to cash out but there’s only one person working for HUGE store. Self serving dog wash no reservations but well kept with two tubs. Other customers who shop there are nice and respectful which makes it pleasant to shop. Dogs are allowed inside. Sometimes they have treats for dogs. Nice.
