Update: They reached out to apologize and advised that they're supposed to call if there is a price change, so they're working to get things straightened out. ------------------------------------------------ I went to get my pockets repaired here and was quoted $10-15 for the work. A week later I picked up my garment and they told me it was $25 because there were other parts that needed to be repaired. I didn’t ask for that, but begrudgingly accepted the fact and was on my way. I came a few weeks later to get some pants shortened and was quoted $15-$20. When I came a week later they told me it would be $34 because they had to clean them before doing the work. The pants were clean when I dropped them off, and the lady that took them didn’t say that they needed to be cleaned either. They said it was their discretion if a garment needs to be cleaned and I should confirm when I request the work. I will say that the alterations they did were good, but this was the second time that they charged me more than was quoted and I won’t be coming back.
This company was very irresponsible when they damaged my Canada Goose jacket. They didn't clean the damaged area after, leaving the area around dirty and then told me the jacket was cleaned, also charged me over 100 CAD including tax. I needed to contact Canada Goose again and pay to have it repaired myself. ,
I am generally happy with the cleaning job they do here for a fair, but not particularly cheap price. The lady at the Beresford location is very pleasant. The one reason why my rating isn’t higher is their inconvenient hours, closing at 6:30 PM. This is inadequate and unrealistic for professionals who work downtown who constitute the majority of customers who wear the kind of clothes brought for Drycleaning at this location. These are the worst hours that I’ve seen at any Toronto dry cleaner that I have used. If I need something back quickly, I take it to another dry cleaner so that I can pick up the item on my way home from work.
I was in Canada for work. I had a Japanese event I had to host. I brought in a stained silk Haori jacket with a couple oil stains. It took them a week and now my Haori is ruined, not only did they not get the stains out but there are now even more stains from what appears someone spilled bleach on the sleeves. I still paid 20 dollars because the girl there didn’t seem very coherent. It is completely ruined whereas before it was just a bit dirty. Do they have literal children doing the cleaning here? I guess it’s fine if you just bring white shirts like Americans do there, but if you have anything that’s not made in China do not bring it there to be cleaned. I will never use them again. Better to pay more for better service and better technique in bologna and wait they get anything of value done in America
Expensive Woolrich down coat come back with the colour faded and the downs clumsy ?wow! Hope they’ll be able to fix it, otherwise I’ll have them to make up for the damage. So far, no 5 star review possible unfortunately… :(
Have been using Gibson’s for 35 years for regular dry cleaning, hockey equipment cleaning, sensitive garments needing special care and rug cleaning. Perfect every time. Great staff and owned by a great community conscious family. Would never go any place else.
Gibson’s are among the very few dry cleaners who use no chemicals identified as Carcinogens. Personnel for example, Vanda, at the Beresford store—— is friendly, knowledgeable, and provides excellent advice. The professional standard is the highest.
