Avoid, if you care about your clothes. After reading upon the history of the business, was going in with good intentions to find a dry cleaning service done in house with an attention to detail to follow the dry cleaning instructions labeled on my garments. Unfortunately, it was an extremely hostile experience. The new owner (Korean lady) started to get annoyed when asked what type of solvents / chemicals are used for cleaning. Some solvents are actually pretty harmful as the chemicals can be the factor of why your clothes can get damaged after dry cleaning. We started to converse in Korean, and her ego bursted into the conversation, explaining to me and my spouse that she deals with much more important brands and clients such as channel, Hermes coming from 9 other hotels such as the Sheraton hotel, and absolutely has no time to deal with me and my clothes—demonstrating her classism. (The clothes I brought in were expensive, but brands she was unfamiliar with) The entire conversation she would not take the slightest moment to hear me out, as I trying to explain that if anything happened to the garments without proper care followed by the labels instructions, I would have to pay for the damages as it’s commonly known in the dry cleaning services, the business is fundamentally “not responsible for any damages” The issue here wasn’t because the new owner is inexperienced, which is completely fine, it was unsettling to see her name drop and tell me that I was a waste of her time was a way to compensate her knowledge of What solvents being used as the business owner. I don’t know if this temperament was directed at me because she was comfortable speaking to me in korean or if the person was stressed out, but we decided to walk out and take our money somewhere else.

DO NOT GO HERE! I have used their services a few times due to convenience of the area... I am not tolerating their lack of respect for customer service anymore. I have worked in the hospitality industry for over 10 years and the level of disrespect and unprofessionalism is beyond me. Today was the last straw. I went in there looking for a quote for hemming services for a friend. I entered the store, a bell "ding" went off. I waited at the front counter for a couple of minutes and no one came to greet me. I took a few steps to peer around to see if anyone was in the back, and the bell ding sounded again. No one came. I could hear someone in the back working which was fine, I thought maybe they were finishing their task and coming. Nope. I waited a couple more minutes before saying "Hello?". No answer. I noticed a silver bell on the desk and tapped it. No answer. Tapped it a couple more times. No answer. I proceeded to say "Hello" a little louder... nothing. I knocked on the wall to see if that worked.. nothing.. at this point I was a little upset as I could hear and visibly see someone in the back ignoring me. I tapped on the bell a few more times..again nothing. I then raised my voice a little louder and said "Hello??" FINALLY that person approached me looking irritated (mind you, she was wearing an EAR BUD - no wonder). I asked them if they worked here and they said yes and I said Oh okay sorry I was waiting here for awhile and would like some assistance.... This employee asked me "Did you ring the bell?" I looked at her in shock and and said "Yes i did several times". She then proceeds to come around the desk and tap the bell and say "This bell??" at which I am now beyond myself and said "Yes that bell MANY times"... After hearing my request, she basically brushed me off and told me to go to another business down the street as this one did not have their seamstress until Saturday. Turning away business?? I'm not sure how that profits their business...After some discussion, she finally gave me the quote I had initially come in for and I even thanked her....Worst customer service I have ever received in my life. I will no longer be coming back here and honestly I hope no one does... beyond rude and their own employee is sending customers to another business. That says a lot.

CAUTION: New Ownership! I have been going to this establishment for the past 15 years - There has unfortunately been a change in ownership in the past few months (March 2024). New ownership unfortunately does not know what they are doing. A pair of brand new non pleated pants were erroneously fully creased, two pair of suit pants were creased in a careless and sloppy way that I have never seen before - They have new staff that have no idea what they are doing - I would strongly recommend avoiding this place. It’s a real shame as I have been such a long time customer with the previous owners.

I brought in something that should have been a minor repair. They messed it up twice in the exact same way. I now have to take it somewhere else to be fixed.

I called in to ask how much it’d cost to launder a shirt and dry clean a suit - mainly because I’m New to Toronto and the area and shopping for a cleaner. The lady on the phone said she isn’t giving prices on the phone and that I should come down if I was serious. It’d be a different story if the prices were listed online. But they aren’t. Needless to say, I’m taking my business elsewhere.

Park Avenue Cleaners has moved to Queen and Bathurst - same service and the same commitment to customer care. John and Paulette are both there to offer dry cleaning and laundry at its best. Eve is also at-the-ready for alterations - Eve also shares the excellence of the Park Avenue customer service mandate. It is hard to find a dry cleaning depot that offers an on-site plant - Park Avenue is the real deal.

This place is a winner! The owner (“Gianni” is Greek for John) has been around a long time, but he clearly knows customer service. My cleaning task was complicated (i.e. a cloth tapestry from the 1950’s) and there was a risk that solvents would burn off the finish. Gianni was helpful, optimistic and accountable. The job was done in one day. The price was absurdly fair. And the cleaning — wow! Six decades of dust and dirt...removed. The colours are back. An absolute triumph! Bravo, Park Ave. Cleaners!
