Terrible experience! We stayed here (well tried to stay here) a couple weeks ago. The hotel didn't look nearly as nice in person as we had seen in some pics and when we entered the lobby we wondered what we had gotten ourselves into. But when we got to the room it was nice, except for the fact that the toilet wouldn't flush and we fixed it ourselves. The big problem, however, was that it was a sweltering day and the a/c wasn't working. We called down to the front desk and they verbally told us how to use it. That didn't work. I called the front desk again and this time they sent up a representative to help us. She couldn't get it working. She contacted the maintenance man. He came to assist but was absolutely miserable. He was so rude to us and rude to the other employee. He scolded us, saying we touched the wrong buttons on the remote, and then he tried to fix it and told us not to touch it. As he was leaving the room it stopped working again even though we hadn't touched it. He was so rude and at this point it had been about 45 minutes in a sweltering room and we decided we had had enough. The cost of 1-night was way too expensive to deal with the hassle and the heat. We were offered to try a different room but we were so turned off, especially by the maintenance man. Thankfully, the front office receptionists (who were pleasant) allowed us to cancel our reservation without penalty. The reason we were staying at the hotel was because we live an 1.5 hours away and were going to stay out late and didn't want to drive home. But we sucked it up and drove home at 2:00 am rather than staying at this hotel.
Great location in downtown Toronto. Beds were clean and comfortable. The service was exceptional. All the people at the desk were friendly and helpful. The only negative thing I have to say is that the views weren't good. You can pay more to get some of the best views in the world at other hotels in the immediate area.
First the gmail has yet to respond to my email. 2nd they cancelled our reservation at 4pm when my paperwork clearly states they would hold the room until 7am the following morning. We arrived at 8pm. The sold us another room at almost double the cost. I work for choice and this is NOT choice policy. I'm embarrassed by this hotel. I've given the gm 6 days to respond to my email and nothing. If this is how this hotel is run don't stay here! Also the room was dirty. Condiment package was open and used. How gross!
They said check-in was 2. I showed up at around 3:20 but didn't get the key until around 4 because it was not cleaned yet. Rooms are tiny but not too bad. Bathroom is so small you would have to open the door to change your mind. Bed was decent. Location to downtown was nice but there is nowhere to park. Not even to drop someone off. Ended up parking at Ryerson and paying a small fortune.
All as good as expected. Clean room with all I needed. Money paid elsewhere in amenities you usually don't go are not there either. Good restaurants around the location and internet is being updated. Super helpful and friendly front desk and manager. I do recommend it for family or business trips if you want to visit around, not the hotel's swimming pool which obviously they don't have.
