The Doctors, I understand, but the receptionists (at least the ones we’ve spoken with for the past week) are rude and lack compassion. My family and I, including both my children, have been a patient of Dr J.Cohen for the past 3 decades and we’ve received great care until she retired few years ago. Reason why I could still rate them 2 stars. I chose to stay with them even after Dr Cohen’s retirement, thinking that the great care would continue. I have been ill and needed urgent care on different health issues - was told that an urgent referral has already been made and we were given the name and number of the Gyne, but when we called, they were already on holiday break. Called St Clair Medical again, and the receptionist just practically brushed us off saying they already made the referral and there’s nothing they can do and saying “No one will see you during the holidays” and that I don’t understand what else they need to do for me. So rude!!
I used to see her in person now only through a computer SMH.In 2006 I would have said fantastic doctor she was so caring and trusted me explicitly. I regret seeing her now she changed and treats everyone differently
I am a new patient at St. Clair medical. My doctor of 37 years has recently joined this clinic. My first experience was unfavorable as I was 15 minutes late to my appointment. I did not receive the instructional email that clarified my doctors specific unit number as they had an incorrect email address. Getting to 1849 yonge and parking took much longer than expected as there was construction and a stalled vehicle. I felt I left in ample time but didn't anticipate the hold up. Upon arrival the elevator took literally 3 minutes.... I proceeded to unit 707 and the receptionists couldn't find my appointment, until I clarified which Doctor then they sent me to 701. This all took time.... I was frazzled ...already... then I met the receptionist who exacerbated an already frustrating situation. My appointment with my Doctor went well, I too had to wait , which I was happy to. I recall spending lengthy wait times in the past and always gracious and understanding. Since my physical I have communicated with the receptionist and we are on the right track. She has now been very professional and efficient which is what I would expect from a doctors office staff member. Just a note to all patients leave in enough time for unforeseen traffic calamities.
After Hours Clinic - I need to see a doctor somewhat urgently - and it being Friday added to that urgency. I emailed the clinic Thursday night and then called them Friday morning. When I didn't get through I decided to leave a message explaining my situation. But the recording said if you have already emailed don't leave a message. I thought to myself I likely wont get an appointment today so I may as well check with the After Hours Clinic. When I called the number provided on the website, it gave out different numbers for different days. I had to call them twice because the number went by too fast for me the first time. Then I called that number provided, which gave me another number to call. When I called that second number, it gave me the very first number AGAIN! Its a loop, and I am not sure at this point that an after hours clinic is even functioning!! They said try this clinic before a walk in -- but how can we possibly deal with this infinite loop of recorded phone numbers. Frustrated and disappointed with getting no support or help.
I always have a positive experience dealing with St Clair medical. I am a patient of Dr Elisa Venier and am very happy with her care. Dr Venier is very patient and caring and always explains everything well .. Teresa is also very efficient and I always get a response in a timely manner.
WORST OFFICE EVER. The horrible Google rating is not because of the doctors, but because of the office/front desk. We used to be with a lovely doctor named Dr. Wyman, but once she left and her office got disbanded, all these patients, including myself and my family, were transferred to St. Clair Medical. My family and I had been with that office for over 3 decades and never had issues like we do now. The biggest problem is the communication from the office and appointment booking. It has happened multiple times now where I am at the front desk after my appointment, booking another appointment for down the road, and Piya will confirm with me a day and time which works. As I need to check my schedule, I am naturally in my calendar, booking that day and time for said appointment. Yet somehow, 6 months later, I show up at said appointment and my appointment was magically at a different time during the day. Avaros, their booking software, sends confirmations via email either when it is booked, or the day before, both of which indicate the time I had booked. Haley and her office do not accept an ounce of responsibility, and other reviews reflect these same issues. I personally have my own business and book appointments every single day. Communication is something I do well, and yet somehow communication has broken down multiple times with myself, and my family members with the people in this office. Dr. Borins is a decent doctor, very new though having just graduated from residency at Scarborough General. I never had issues with my old family doctor and her office, NEVER. I HATE being late and missing appointments. Then all of the sudden, office change and wow look at that! I've magically missed 4 appointments and been 45 minutes late to a 5th one! What a crazy coincidence....
Terribly disorganized. Phone reception if they ever answer the phone is curt. Never speak quickly or they will tell you off, so s l o w down so they can process whatever u need. Be prepared to follow up and follow up as simple referrals seem difficult.
