My partner took my about five year old boots in here and we both found the quality and service to be great. They are super affordable - about $40 to get your boots restored but the price does vary. Overall, this is a great place to take your shoes in to be repaired or refreshed.

Very PRICEY. They quoted me a repair for one shoe (not even a pair) one sandal - needs to be stitched on the sides for 35$! There's one shoe repair just under the Thomson Building called Queen and Bay shoe repair that quoted me 20$ to stitch borh shoes. It's just 5 min walk. Crazy how Novelty thinks I would pay 70$ to get my sandal stitched. And when I say stitch, it's not to stitch the entire sides but literally just a section. Plus, the associate wasn't the nicest so NEVER coming back here again. Sorry.

Thank you for punching holes in my leather cross body bag strap! I can finally use it the way I like it. It was a random walk-in, with no idea Novelty did bag work. Am I ever glad I found them! Highly recommend! Service was precise, experience was friendly and I will be back for more work on a different bag.

It is rare to find craftsmen today who are skilled and proud to do good work. John exceeds expectations and maintains a long tradition of exceptional quality shoe repair at Novelty Shoe Repair. Thank you John !

I am a returning customer to this store. One reason: excellent experience with amazing service, John is an expert regarding materials, repairs and care. His has the knowledge to anticipate your needs and satisfy them completely. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

I was desperate to have some shoe repairs done and novelty was one of the few places that was open. John helped me out. He said he would get them done as soon as possible for me and I'm so happy. But then he totally exceeded my expectations and was able to do the repair the same day! He was so friendly and so helpful! I highly recommend!

I took a pair of Red Wings Iron Rangers here because the older sole had no tread, and I wanted to make them more suitable for winter. After a bit of back and forth with the two guys working there, John understood that I wanted a complete sole replacement. In addition, he cleaned and polished the boots. I'm not sure, but I think he conditioned them too. The whole process took about a week (he asked me if I was in any rush and I said no -- I'm sure if you were in a rush it could be done faster.) The quality of the workmanship is excellent. I'm no expert, but I sent photos to people who have more knowledge on the subject, and that's what they told me. Personally, I can attest to the fact that they look great and that there is no flaw I can see with the workmanship. Considering the quality of the workmanship, the price was fair (the treatment I got cost $209, which is comparable to what it would cost you to send the directly back to the manufacturer for a recondition... which you can't actually do for Red Wings in Canada. But it's good to know the price seems fair.) If you have Goodyear welt shoes, this is a good place to take them. Although I didn't buy anything else, the store also sells some of the harder to find conditioners like Saphir Renovateur, at a price similar to what you can find online.
