The front desk black lady is extremely rude; she did not even let us to go to the leasing office; she was trying to lie about the availability of apartments; thinking she could do the job of leasing officers. She seemed to be a raciest given how she treated me and my daughter. I changed my mind to rent an apartment in that building only because of her. I urge the management to pay attention to her behavior and how she treats the visitors and potential clients. So disgusting….
The building is well-built, and the support staff you interact with on a daily basis are friendly, professional, and most importantly, eager to help. If things get broken, they get fixed fast as well. My issue is only with the management, or the provincial rent control guidelines. See, this building was built after 2018, therefore it's not subjected to rent control and they can raise your rent according to their calculation of what the market price is. They initially wanted to raise my rent by $1000/month, or around 35%. However, after reading my previously more critical review, they came back to the table to renegotiate, and we have since then settled for roughly a $600 increase. Not ecstatic about that, but with me and my girlfriend both paying the rent, it's at least more tolerable. I understand a corporation's desire to generate revenue, and I only blame the provincial government for giving them complete free reins to do so. However, a prospective new tenant must make the decision for themselves whether the pros outweigh the cons.
